All submissions must comply with the Metchosin ArtPod's General Submission Guidelines. Please click this link an read these guidelines

ArtCall Guidelines

  • Submissions, (information and images), are to be made through ArtCall, https://artcall.org/ on or before the announced deadline. Submit your image(s) through ArtCall with the following information for each work: title of work, artist name, artist e-mail, medium and substrate, price, image filename(s), (multiple images are accepted if they help clarify the work), dimensions, weight (if over 20lbs), how piece fits with theme (i.e. artist’s statement).
  • If using ArtCall for the first time, log into the site and sign up for a free account. Watch the embedded you-tube tutorial on ArtCall for a walk-through of how to submit. 
  • Each show will have a unique ArtCall link, in the format nameofshow/artcall.org, which can be found in the Call to Artists once submissions open.
  • Images you upload during the submission process cannot be taken by commercial photographers (not even with their permission). Reference photos must either be taken by you personally or taken by an amateur photographer who have given you full copyright permission to use for Metchosin ArtPod purposes.
  • Maximum three submissions per artist
  • All mediums welcome.
  • Image quality is essential during the jurying process; please ensure the image of your work is in focus, in even lighting, and represents the work. Upload your original file if you use a modern 12 MP smartphone; the same should hold true for most modern cameras. This should ensure a good-quality image of 4032 pixels on the image's longest side.   • Artwork(s) will be accepted at the discretion of the juror(s).

Fees and Payment

  • There is a submission fee of $10 for each submission.
  • If your work is accepted there is a hanging fee of $20 per piece (called a booth fee in ArtCall). When submitting your work,  you will be asked to indicate your acceptance of this potential fee.
  • All submitted artwork must be for sale. Any work sold during the exhibition will be subject to a 30% commission to ArtPod.
  • Payment will be made to artists for any work sold within one week of the end of the show, by e-transfer to the artist’s email.

Insurance

ArtPod does not have insurance for items in the show so all artwork is left at the owner/ artist’s risk although works on display, ArtPod members are in the gallery when it is open, and ArtPod will make every effort to protect work.

Artist's Benefits

  • ArtPod handles all sales and taxes on behalf of the artist.
  • ArtPod will use your images and submission content to promote the exhibition on social media, newsletters, art event publications, its social media systems, website and in the exhibition book. 
  • The exhibition book will be uploaded to an international website for purchase by the artist and the general public.
  • The exhibition book will be sent to the Library and Archive Canada in Ottawa for circulation and a permanent record of the exhibition.
  • Through ArtCall, the ArtPod will create an online gallery linked to our website that can be accessed from around the world. 
  • ArtPod will produce and distribute to all juried in artist a social media promotion package, in various formats.

Artist's Responsibility

  • Artist are asked, using the social media package, to promote the exhibition on through their website and social media platforms. The Metchosin ArtPod is a not-for-profit artist run facility, and your efforts to help promote our exhibitions are gratefully appreciated.
  • Make sure your pickup and drop of dates are marked in your calendar, and if you are unable to make those dates you should make alternate arrangements. The fee for uncollected work is $10/ day per work. 
  • We have limited storage space at the moment so all packing materials need to be taken home after drop off.
