Hikers and fisherman have a nickname for August, here on the Pacific Northwest Coast – Foggest. I long for these cool foggy mornings as I walk the coastline to the beach, before my day heats up with inescapable stifling temperatures. The dog-days of summer are almost over and if we’re lucky, balmy, rainy mornings will see us out. Soon, we’ll be bracing for the cooling winds that carry gold and orange tumbling leaves along with it – summer’s last gasp.
