Artist Statement
Sometimes inspiration, for me, is fleeting. It is the light, colour, pattern and/or line created by the arrangements of objects I just happen to see out of the corner of my eye. I resist arranging objects to paint. I try to see what is around me and in this instance it is a toaster and dirty kitchen wear by the sink. I was in a rush to get out of the house so I snapped a picture. I knew this arrangement of objects with this light will never happen again unless I painstakingly arranged it myself. I played with the filter on my phone to get this black and white image and painted it.
